Harpal was arrested from Delhi, during interrogation, Harpal told that he used to send the army movement to Jaspal of Pakistani intelligence agency sitting in Lahore, Pakistan. Harpal used to talk to Jaspal sitting in Lahore through the Messenger app. After which Jaspal mobilized him for espionage.
After this, Harpal Singh was sending the information of people associated with the
Indian Army, the location of every movement of the Indian Army, as well as all
information of BSF posts and bunkers on the borders of India and Pakistan to the
Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
According to the special cell, Harpal was getting a hefty amount in exchange for
sending every information. The people of ISI were sending money through
hawala while routing Harpal from different countries. At present, Harpal is being
questioned, so that more information can be extracted.
The special cell has recovered several SIM cards from Harpal, documents related
to the army and intelligence related to the BSF, mobile phones through which he
was in contact with the Pakistani handler. Many Pakistani numbers have been
found from mobile phones with which Harpal was constantly in contact.
